Does Media Have A Trick or Treat Curfew?

Posted on 15:52 by tony

Happy Halloween 2013

Happy Halloween to all you trick or treat'ers out there this evening.  It's a much better night then a year ago were some municipalities were considering moving Halloween to the weekend due to altered schedules and the debris in the neighborhoods caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Tonight it looks like everything is off to a good start.  I can hear the kids going up and down the

Fire Departments called to State Street Last Night!

Posted on 04:03 by tony

There was a bit of excitement on State Street last night that definitely got the attention of the local fire companies.  Not sure all the details, but a reader submitted a few photos of the incident that appears to have occurred after midnight.

As of this morning, there was no apparent damage to the businesses or buildings.

Small Business Saturday - Make it Media, PA

Posted on 10:08 by tony
American Express is behind this small business marketing campaign, but I really think they hit the mark with getting the word out about what small businesses mean for the community.  A video like this customized for Media, PA could be an excellent marketing tool for this town.  Short (<~1min), engaging/fun (video store owners and customers), impactful and easy to distribute (promotional video

All Things Upper Providence

Dear ATM Readers:

My name is David Daniel, I’m an Upper Providence Resident and current candidate for the First District seat on Township Council. Since I write “Media, PA” as my return address on every letter I send (yes, I still use the mail), I think the election in Upper Providence Township fits the theme of this blog. I want to thank Tedman for giving me

A Great Story About D'Ignazio's Towne House Restaurant in Media, PA

Posted on 17:07 by tony
I guess I'm a history buff when it comes to the classic family owned restaurants in and around Media.  Unfortunately some of my favorites are gone like the Long Horn Ranch and the Log Cabin Inn.   However, one still remains which may be the most important one of all - The Towne House.

If you want to find out how Veteran's Square got it's name, you're in for a treat.  This is a great article by

Media in Two Minutes

Dear Reader,

If you live in Media Borough, on November 5th you can elect a real leader for Mayor who will take the time and commitment to make Media the best it can be.  I've written over 1,400 posts and heard thousands of comments of what's important to this town.  When residents and businesses didn't have information or answers to important issues, I went looking for them to share with the

Lack of Media Mayor's Leadership Taking Toll on Borough - Make a change Nov 5th!

Posted on 05:17 by tony

Septa - Pa Transportation Bill Funding - What has McMahon done?

I found it absolutely appalling that after 22 years as Mayor, Bob McMahon can't come up with anything better than generalizations and not committal statements, but that's been by careful design.  This week on Patch.com he had the opportunity to communicate to Media on the state of Thirds Street Bridge and what his position is on

New Store Coming to State Street

Posted on 04:54 by tony
It looks like some type of soccer sporting goods store will be setting up shop at the former Sassy Girl location at 300 W. State Street.  The windows are taped up, but where they aren't, they have interesting flatscreen TV's running soccer videos and clips from games.

Not since the famous Bill Battey's, has Media had any thing close to an athletics store.  No word yet on what exactly this

Tonight I received a message that at least one of the pet waste stations in Media have been overflowing for the last three days.  I don't have an answer for why this is happening, but I've reached out to the borough manager, Jeff Smith.

Runners in Media need to Lighten Up!

BREAKING - BLCC Prepares "Plan B" to Develop Property

A total lack of leadership by Mayor Bob McMahon and Media Borough Council, may now cost the borough more than the price to repair a bridge.  Two years ago an agreement and the funding were in place to do something, anything; to reestablish the bridge as it once was 18 years ago.  Media borough council failed to take action on a situation that State of Pennsylvania found to be one of the most

Media's New Bike Racks - Here are the True Leaders, Not Media Politicians!

The best thing about this site is showing people doing great things for Media.  I do it as much as I can and always take the time from whatever I'm doing to highlight these achievements.  I take it very seriously, and when I see people inappropriately take credit for other people's work, especially politicians, I have a problem with that.

I think the Media Food Festival which is tomorrow, needs to up its game.  There was a time this didn't have crafts associated with it and was a regional hit with people looking to tryout the best food in the area.  Remember the historic battles for Media's Best Crab Cake?  The former Little Inn reigned supreme, but New Orleans Cafe and Packy's held there own at the time

Youth Recreation - Why Having an Enthusiastic Mayor of Media is Important
