A special thanks to everyone who helped out with this year's turkey drive for the Media food bank. Through your generous donations we were able to deliver 37 turkeys yesterday, among the cheers from those waiting in line to get into the food bank.  With 57 delivered by the Nativity Youth Group and those who were dropping off turkeys

A Bunch of Turkeys Never Sounded So Good!

Media Food Bank Turkey Collection

Collectively it's looking like the Media Food Bank will receive 100 turkeys for families in need this Thanksgiving season.  The Nativity Youth Group really stepped up with 57 turkeys that were distributed last night and are now all gone.  On behalf of the community we'll be delivering what I hope will be enough to get this total over 100.  We've received a

Media Wine Professional, Tom Deschere Gives GREAT Suggestions for Thanksgiving

Posted on 04:02 by tony

Much like having a good tailor and mechanic, it's also good to have a go-to person when it comes to wine, especially during the holiday seasons.  Now, you can search the internet and find countless recommendations, but much like my doctor, I like to know who I'm dealing with. Perhaps you do too, so I reached out to the best Media wine guy I know, Tom Deschere.

Tom worked at La Belle Epoque

MEDIA IN TWO MINUTES

I have to make today's segment a bit on the short side, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot going on.  One category I've been working on is the ATM Spotlight which will feature someone or something each weekend and a story behind why it's special.  A good deed, great event, new store - It could be anything

ATM SPOTLIGHT!

RIP Bruce Squire

On a somber note, I want to

Try Walking A Mile in Media's Shoes - Many Are Delighted To

Posted on 04:01 by tony

I have no problem with the fact that West Goshen Township was ranked 10th on
Money Magazine's 2013 list of "America's Best Small Towns." I do,
however take issue that Media, PA wasn't even listed, let alone
mentioned.  To support this complaint is yet another reason why it
should have been: Media's ranked very high, being one of the most
walkable communities around as found on

First Snow of The Year in Media, PA 2013

Posted on 05:09 by tony
I always found the first snowfall of the year to be special, especially here in Media, PA.  Though it won't be significant, or last very long; a very light and wet snow if falling across the borough this morning.

May be a good time to think about a snow shovel, snow blower or tickets to the Balearic Islands.

Media in Two Minutes - Let's Talk Turkey!

Posted on 04:42 by tony

Dear Reader,

Before we get into Media in Two Minutes, and there seems to be a lot going on this week; I wanted to take some time to talk about an effort I'm currently working on with the Media Food Bank.  Two weeks ago I was at an event where I was told that the people who rely on the food bank had asked if there was anyway they could receive turkey's this year for Thanksgiving.  The food bank

Media Election Wrap Up!

Posted on 04:58 by tony

Media,

I want to thank everyone who came out and supported me yesterday, however, I was unsuccessful in my bid for Mayor of Media. The last few months were not only a great experience, but enabled me to interact with the community that's a unique experience you only get from doing something like this. Despite the outcome it was and continues to be very rewarding involvement.

Congratulations

Body found in park 2011

Back in 2011 on August 29th we had a very serious and unfortunate tragedy occur in the borough which entailed the discovery of a body found on fire at Houtman Park.  I reported on the matter in addition to the delcotimes.com at approximately 3:36pm.  This is not something that happens in Media which naturally left the community not only shocked, but searching for

Why your School Board Vote on Tuesday is More Important Than You Think

Posted on 12:11 by tony
The Rose Tree Media School Board plays a big role for our communities and is a contributing factor for why families choose to move and stay here.  As a kid, it certainly was for my family who weighed that decision and trusted that the schools here in Rose Tree Media would be of the highest quality.  And now as a taxpayer, just as important.  Recently Philly Magazine illustrated just how important

Media in Two Minutes - VOTE TEDMAN NOV 5th!

Posted on 04:53 by tony

Dear Reader and Voter,
I want to thank Dave Daniel from Upper Providence for the commentary post he submitted on Tuesday.  It's refreshing to see a candidate outline the issues and tackle them head-on. In Media we've been fed statements such as, "Roll up our sleeves" and "Thinking outside the box," which doesn't mean anything. But I'm sure what I outline below will.

I always find interest in new technologies that provide simplicity and added convenience for users. This week, a new app was released by Setpa.org that provides a host of features the everyday commuter may find useful.  Whether the bus, trolley or the Media/Elwyn Line, this app is quite extensive.

What you can expect is a clean user interface with useful features like “Start
