Media in Two Minutes

After 30 years Fast and Fancy is Finished

Thank you Roz for 30 years of great service.  Media will miss Fast and Fancy

If you haven't heard, today's the last lunch or breakfast you'll be able to have at Fast and Fancy.  After 30 years, they are closing from what was cited as an increase competitive climate and construction going on at the Media Mini Mall that will

Rail Service to West Chester? This group is on the right track!

Posted on 06:49 by tony
Over the last couple of years I've been involved in a few efforts towards making this rail service to West Chester a reality, but now it's becoming a popular movement recently noted by West Chester Borough's commitment to seeing this happen.

Stay tuned, there will be more news about this later this year, as this could produce a welcomed synergy of economic development and transportation

Media Borough Found in Contempt of Court

From initial reports I’ve received this morning, it looks like the obstruction to fix Media’s Third Street bridge perpetuated  by Mayor Bob McMahon, Council President, Brian Hall, and Councilmen Robinson and Davidson, has taken a decisive turn, while proving  a costly lesson for taxpayers.

This morning, Judge Proud determined that Media Borough is

Media's Got it: Sidewalks, Bike Facilities, Public Transportation

Posted on 16:41 by tony
Here's some interest statistics reflective of a town like Media, Pa.  I'd be interested to find out if our town has similar percentages, aside from maybe the bike commuters, I bet we're close.

Traffic calming is an interesting subject, which I'm doing some research on.  I know there are many in the community who are at their wits end with speeding and vehicles rolling through stop signs - have a

Since the electricity in Media seems to go out more than I do, please keep in mind the following potential issues with Mylar balloons and power lines.

Media in Two Minutes

It's always my best intention each week to make M2M as short and concise as I can for a variety of reasons: 1) Believe it or not, writing is not one of may favorite things to do.  2) From a content perspective there's plenty to discuss and share, but no one wants to hear me drone on for hours. 3) Even if I was an award wining writer, and this is something a lot of people

It's Official: Media's Iconic John's Grille is SOLD!

*** S O L D ***

This deal took a little longer than I expected, but it's done: John's Grille has been sold.  Before you go running to get one last look at Media's oldest neighborhood watering hole, it may not be as bad as you think.  The new owner, who currently owns a business in Media doesn't have many plans to make it any different from what it is now.  Yes, it may get cleaned up a bit and

SEPTA Workers Picket at Media Station

Posted on 03:50 by tony
I should have been tipped off yesterday that a SEPTA strike was imminent when I saw workers at Suburban station in Philadelphia carrying posters supporting the work stoppage.  Historically, it always seems that SEPTA works out what's needed to avoid service disruptions for tens-of- thousands of people.  As of 12:01 this morning, history hasn't yet repeated its self.  The strike is underway.

For all you Media dogs out there

Posted on 19:20 by tony
This is a great idea for the active pet in your life, especially if it has an Uber account.  I know this would have come in handy for my dog when he was younger and definitely for those who from time-to-time post missing pet announcements.

With the amounts spent on pets each year, this seems like a small price to pay for piece of mind. Especially if you take you dog on trips and unleashed walks.

Here's what $2.3 billion in the Transporation Funding Act achieves for the Media Area!

Posted on 04:25 by tony
Last November there was quite a stir with statements made by SEPTA regarding the possible closure of part of the Media/Elwyn (R3) Line due to lack of funding for repairs.  It was quite a serious concern for those who take this train, and also for those dreading the subsequent traffic increase from lack of rail transportation.  So much so, I began calling legislatures to learn more about what was
