Media in Two Minutes

Posted on 06:07 by tony

MEDIA IN TWO MINUTES!

Good morning and thanks for swinging by for the latest on what's going on in Media, PA.  I'll make this short this week as the 55 degrees we expect today should provide more inspiration than I can provide on this site. And that's a great thing!

A few things:

I'm not getting into the whole snow removal situation that has been on people's minds lately, but I will say it

Questions about Snow Plowing in Media

Posted on 12:00 by tony
#mediapa #delcoI have to think if a borough snow emergency was issued last week, as were in neighboring towns, the roads would have been better plowed leaving for an improved parking situation in Media.

Here's an example of snow banks spilling over on Front Street into the parking spaces that are clearly unusable.  As you can see this street was plowed, but obviously not as a snow emergency

AmazonPRIME Delivered by USPS on Sunday's in Media, PA

Posted on 14:13 by tony
If you're not familiar with AmazonPRIME you can read more about it here.  For those that are, you will now be able to receive packages via the Media post office on Sundays.  This was quite a story at the end of 2013, but has now made its way to our area.  Essentially, if you order a package from Amazon on Friday, you'll receive it by Sunday to use on Monday.  Now, I don't have a real world

MEDIA IN TWO MINUTES

Good Morning, World!  I'm dreaming of a white Easter! (kidding) I know if you live in Media there are a lot of questions and complaints regarding the recent snow falls and how much this has impeded driving and parking.  Essentially, many side roads in Media are now physically limited to one-way traffic due to the snowbanks on either sides of the streets.  There's about

How good is your cell phone coverage in Media? What's your experience with T-Mobile?

Posted on 12:13 by tony

Again this week I was asked if T-Mobile’s coverage is good enough to justify a switch.  This is hard to gauge without people’s input, but with a recent move by T-MOBILE to pay you to leave your current carrier, it may be worth a frank discussion. I use AT&T and have for years.  I found their coverage(iPhone 4s) here in Media borough to be quite good for both voice and data(3G), but I imagine

What Ever Happened to ABC? And Made In Media, PA?

Posted on 06:32 by tony

Made in Media, PA

I can't remember how this topic of conversation came up, but someone asked me last night, "what ever happened to ABC?"  For those that don't know ABC was American Baseball Cap who assembled batting helmets right here in Media, PA.  They were produced just across the street from the Media train station and were known world wide.  In fact, they were responsible for pioneering

MEDIA IN TWO MINUTES

Thanks for reading this week!  I'll try to keep it on the short side as the goal here is to provide a two-minute brief of what's going on in Media, PA.  Sometimes that's not so easy with so much going on, but if it makes M2M, it's important to someone. That's not to say I couldn't do a Media in Five Minutes, but in these times who's got five undivided minutes?

Thanks

Media Borough Lacked Important Leadership During Recent Ice Storm

Posted on 06:59 by tony
#delcosnow

Having had a tree fall on my house, I didn't need Pennsylvania to issue a State of Emergency to know we were going to be in for a rough time during the ice storm earlier this week.  For thousands of others, that misery came in the form of loss of power and heat. This wasn't just a matter of inconvenience, but for many, an unwanted exercise in survival that has lasted for days.

Media in Two Minutes

This morning news broke that Punxsutawney Phil didn't do us any favors and has announced six more weeks of winter.  Here's his official statement: "A Super Bowl winner I will not predict, But my weather forecast, you cannot contradict, That's not a football lying beside me, It's my shadow you see.  So, six more weeks of winter it shall be!"

As for today's Super Bowl,
