Posted on 20:06 by tony

After 18 years, it's over!

This Monday, July 28th marked the 30 day deadline Media Borough had to appeal the latest ruling by Judge Proud which found Media borough in contempt of court over Third Street Bridge.  5pm on Monday came and went, which unofficially marked the end of a 18 year dilemma that many in this community were not only following, but were affected by in varying degrees. If you're looking for reservations for one of those swanky roof top restaurants in NYC (of course, Refinery rooftop), there's not much I can do for you.  But here in Media, we have some exciting action going on top-side with a restaurant that can hold its own with some of the best.

Forget Dining Under the Stars, Azie on State Street is the place to be this week for an

"I SEPTA MEDIA"

Posted on 15:44 by tony

Not quite a household name, but the DCTMA (Delaware County Transportation Management Association) has gone to great lengths to share and advocate the many transportation resources we have in the county.  Whether it's programs like Bike-To-Work, awareness campaigns, job expos, transportation safety for schools, or collaborations with SETPA; this group makes an impact.

I was especially impressed

Thanks
to those who reach out week after week with questions, observations
about Media and requests for help with promoting an event.  I enjoy them
and usually get back to people within the day.  What's really worked out
well are messages sent to either @mediapanews on Twitter or to the ATM

Media, Pa company ION Sport Juice exceeds their KickStarter Campaign!

Posted on 04:53 by tony
This is a story I've been following closely since hearing about it a few weeks ago, which involved a small business here in Media called, ION Sport Juice.  What intrigued me about the effort was that they were producing a product right here in everyone's home town and was looking to the community to help fund their business plan.

I liked the idea, but loved the opportunities this could provide

Beer Here - Cool video from 320 Market
I really like what 320 Market is doing with these videos.  They run them from time-to-time on their Facebook page, which really gets across a great message of what they're up to, what they're working on and why you should give them a try.  I'm not a beer guy, but nice marketing campaign explaining to someone like myself the

Is Media getting Bamboozled?

Posted on 03:53 by tony
Is Media getting Bamboozled? Well, I suppose that depends on who you ask, however one reader really is being affected by the overgrowth of bamboo at the corner of Jefferson and Gayley Street on the south side of town.  It's a bit hard to see in the picture, but bamboo shoots are seen behind the stop sign and are interfering with vehicles.

Thanks to the person that took the time to bring this to

Maggie's Hook to replace Generations Restaurant

What was known as Generations Restaurant is officially closed as described by the sign on the front door today.  It also stated that renovations are underway which are in preparations for a new restaurant called Maggie's Hook.  From what I understand, this will be a seafood grill setup.  As for the pub, that'll remain as is, and I believe will

Will Media Borough Require You to Have a Sidewalk? It's in the works.

Posted on 15:23 by tony

If you live in Media and don't have one of these, it is going to cost you!

It was brought to my attention a few weeks ago that Media Borough Council President, Brian Hall is leading an effort to bring more sidewalks to Media.  That may sound nice, but a group who is opposing this wants the community to know the following: those who live in the borough and don't have sidewalks will be required
