Breaking - Media Borough Council Chooses Not to Appeal Third Street Bridge Lawsuit

After 18 years, it's over!
This Monday, July 28th marked the 30 day deadline Media Borough had to appeal the latest ruling by Judge Proud which found Media borough in contempt of court over Third Street Bridge. 5pm on Monday came and went, which unofficially marked the end of a 18 year dilemma that many in this community were not only following, but were affected by in varying degrees. I

Media's Olive Street Parking Garage Repair Begins to Run Behind Schedule

With a July 25th scheduled re-opening of the top level of Olive Street Garage, and substantial work still yet to be done; the project begins to run behind schedule. As of today, the top tier is still closed with major concrete work still yet to be done.

Not quite a household name, but the DCTMA (Delaware County Transportation Management Association) has gone to great lengths to share and advocate the many transportation resources we have in the county. Whether it's programs like Bike-To-Work, awareness campaigns, job expos, transportation safety for schools, or collaborations with SETPA; this group makes an impact.

This is a story I've been following closely since hearing about it a few weeks ago, which involved a small business here in Media called, ION Sport Juice. What intrigued me about the effort was that they were producing a product right here in everyone's home town and was looking to the community to help fund their business plan.

Things are starting to get serious regarding plans to develop the west end of Media along Baltimore Avenue. This month, details were released on ideas two collaborating companies have that include bringing 22 town-homes and a 150 unit apartment complex that would flank both sides of Media's western gateway. It was brought to my attention a few weeks ago that Media Borough Council President, Brian Hall is leading an effort to bring more sidewalks to Media. That may sound nice, but a group who is opposing this wants the community to know the following: those who live in the borough and don't have sidewalks will be required
